The Angel of Iran

BE WARNED: This is NOT an easy video to watch, but one I think EVERYONE should see with their own eyes.

This is the reality of what is happening in Iran.

This young woman was protesting the election, (that I, and anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together believe was in fact rigged) by simply "being out in the streets". For this, she was shot in the heart and lungs.

This is the very bloody video of that moment uploaded to twitter and on-line by Iranians, despite the government's attempt to block cell phone and Internet services. Iranians who had no cell phone service could still share via bluetooth from person to person and eventually the world, what was and IS STILL happening in the streets on Iran.

A quick note...hard to watch

Tina's been taking amazing care of her mom.....while I know this is hard for her, I'm so happy they both have this time together, for so many reasons.....mostly life is a struggle but, sometimes the world bends to give you exactly what you need, when you need it the most. I've watched Tina, her mom, and her little sister grow closer as they bonded against the cancer.......tragic and beautiful all at once......

On a second note I wrote this big long thing about the concept of justified murder which we are seeing in way too many news stories these days.......after 45 minutes of writing, blogger crashed and I lost it......DAMNATION!

Why not just arm the container ships these pirates are holding up? PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Seriously our "greatest minds" have discussed this issue and arming the container ships so they cannot be taken over or robbed by pirates never occurred to anyone?

Great Birthday (April 3rd)

Had a great Birthday!

Walked into work to find 2 packages on my desk....a muffin from one friend with a sweet note and a present (2 pear shaped candles and a slate plate-like thingy to burn them on) from another friend. THEN I was surprised by the girls in my center buying me an egg and cheese sandwich.....great start no?

Got lots of "Happy Birthdays" and later in the afternoon my department surprised me with a cake and a $50 Gift Cert. for Best buy....which I promptly used toward the iPod I've been wanting.....just in time for summer : )

It was soooo sweet.....5:30.....i left for home....

Came home to cupcakes, a card, flowers (Tulips) and my lovely wife ready to take me out on the town......off we went to a FANTASTIC restaurant (The Beach House) for the best meal out I've had in a long time, candles, a live blues band playing in the background and an old friend of Tina's waiting and socializing with us......not to mention she totally hooked us up all night, starting with a champagne toast.....VERY romantic.

Then we came home changed into something more comfortable, and headed back out to meet the whole gang at the Brook.....closed the place and hit the diner with everyone......didn't get to bed until 5:am.....whewwww.


Now having a relaxed recovery day with my girl spoiling me from when I finally got up with breakfast to a special Indian style dinner.....sipping coffee now and writing this.......


Tomorrow will be 65' and sunny with no wind (or so they say).....totally ready for that!....then bowling with the gang tomorrow night....where we shall see if the members of "the pact" keep their promise.....nudge nudge.....wink wink.....mah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
